Plymouth Concert Band 2018-2019 Board of Directors
Ian teaches elementary band and orchestra in the Bloomington school district. He also teaches middle school band lessons in the Mounds View school district. Ian earned his degree in Instrumental Music Education from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire in 2014. He has played in the Plymouth Concert Band for 3.5 years.
The PCB is currently filling this position in accordance with the bylaws of the PCB.
.Treasurer/Secretary: Steven Comingdeer
Steven is chief of staff for Accenture's North American health care business portfolio. Steven was proud to champion a partnership agreement between Accenture and the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to recruit and cultivate a pipeline of qualified LGBT candidates. Steven plays oboe and English horn in the Minnesota Philharmonic Orchestra and serves on its board. He holds an MA in health care administration and a BA in business management and health care informatics from the College of Saint Scholastica.
Development: Richard Samec
Richard is a Registered Professional Engineer who has worked in the power and energy industry for over 25 years. Richard earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Dakota and Professional Engineering licensure in 2002. He plays tenor saxophone in the Plymouth Concert Band. Richard also plays the Slovenian diatonic button accordion and travels to jazz festivals across the country as an avid listener.
Operations: Daniel Georgakopoulos
Daniel Georgakopoulos graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a double B.M. degree in K-12 Instrumental Education and Clarinet Performance. He is a licensed Minnesota Music Educator teaching privately as well as serving as a substitute teacher in Wayzata District Schools. Daniel is in his second year playing with the Plymouth Concert Band, and has joined the board this year as Operations Director.
Marketing/Communications: Amanda Yadav
Amanda Yadav owns a private music studio and currently teaches French horn and piano lessons to 35 students. She earned her Bachelors of Music from the University of Minnesota-Duluth and her Masters of Music from Wichita State University. In addition to teaching, Amanda has been a member of the French horn sections of the Wichita Grand Opera, Wichita Symphony Orchestra, as well as the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra.
Outreach: Shannon Elsenpeter
Shannon Elsenpeter is an Information Technology professional with over 15 years of experience. While she holds her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, she has always had music as one of her creative outlets. Shannon was a member of the Eden Prairie Community Band for 13 years and served on their band council for 12 years. She has recently joined the Plymouth Concert Band.
